Background and Experience


Dr. Knight received his Doctor of Psychology degree from Biola University, Rosemead School of Psychology in 1998, which included 15 units of Theology and 17 units of Integration of Psychology and Theology as part of his Doctorate from Rosemead school. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Washington Jefferson College. Dr. Knight is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, with advanced certifications in trauma recovery and personality assessment. He is an EMDRIA Approved Consultant and Certified Therapist in EMDR, one of the nationally recognized treatments for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. As a Consultant, he is qualified to train EMDR therapists to become Certified Therapists and Approved Consultants in EMDR. He is also a Senior External Trainer for Kahler Communications, qualified to provide Personality Assessments and Communications Training for organizational team building, marriage communication and parent training. As a Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Knight is trained in advanced Psychological Assessments for a broad range of mental health conditions referenced in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual 5th Edition (DSM-V).   Background and Experience:  Dr. Knight has been a Licensed Clinical Psychologist since 1999 and founded Alpha Omega Christian Counseling PC (AOCC) in 2009. Prior to creating AOCC Dr. Knight had been the Founder and Director of the CARF Accredited Intensive Outpatient Day Treatment Program with Meier Clinics beginning in 1999. As the Clinical Director and Senior Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Knight was the primary evaluator responsible for Psychological Assessments for the St. Louis Meier Clinic and Day Treatment Program. Dr. Knight supervises Masters and Doctoral Students for licensure in Missouri and Illinois. He also taught at Covenant Seminary for 11 years. Prior to his education at Biola, Dr. Knight served as a Regular Army Officer for 10 years in the US Army as a medical administrator and UH-60 Blackhawk Pilot. He was trained in Organizational Leadership and Management at the Combined Arms and Services Staff School (CAS3) as well as the Officer Basic and Advanced Courses. While in the service he was a volunteer leader in the Navigators discipleship ministry at Ft Carson CO and also served as a Missionary Associate with the Navigators in Seoul Korea. He is a combat veteran of Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. 

Special Interests and Services


Dr. Knight has specialized training in the treatment of PTSD, Personality Profiling and Clinical Psychological assessments. A predominant part of his practice is currently focused on recovery from PTSD from sexual assaults, accidents, natural disasters and combat related trauma. Dr. Knight is a member of the St. Louis Trauma Recovery Network and has participated in disaster relief efforts in places like Joplin, MO. Dr. Knight also works regularly with anxiety disorders including Panic, OCD, and acute stress disorders. He has significant experience in the treatment of mood disorders including Depression, Bipolar Illness, and Adjustment related conditions. He provides assessments for most major mental health conditions and does numerous personality assessments for individual therapy.
